Holiday gift giving can be pretty stressful. Thankfully, you have a friend who knows everything there is to know about what to gift, and whom to gift it to. This post is full of great Amazon affiliate links (check out my disclosure here) which means that most- if not all- of these gifts can be at your door two seconds ago. Amazon is like the KGB in that sense. Works out well for last minute shopping, I think. Let’s jump into it.
Villa Acacia Large Wooden Paddle Board and Pizza Board
This pizza board is a must because of how versatile it is.Want a pizza board to bake pizza on? Right here. Need a cutting board? You’ve got it. Having guests over and want to serve a meat and cheese board? Use this.
People underestimate these humble boards, but from food prep to serving dish, this thing is a no-brainer for holiday gifting.
Microplane
My microplane gets so much playtime in my kitchen. It’s used to grate spices, zest citrus peels, grate chocolate- everything! There’s never been a day that I have thought, “I really wasted money on that microplane.”
Your home chef needs this in their stocking (if they don’t already have one). Oh! Cheese! It’s great for grating cheese, too! (almost forgot that one)
24 Ounce Wide Mouth Thermos
Does your homecook love to save money? Is he/she like me in that they’d rather eat food from home than buy breakfast or lunch on the go? Know any swing-shift, or late night, workers?
Whatever your home cook fancies, this wide mouth thermos is the ultimate holiday gift because it truly keeps food HOT. I’ve been able to store, and eat, piping hot oatmeal and stews in mine.
It’s also great for portable meals for the student/working home chef. They can pack up their creations and wow their friends and/or co-workers when they crack this bad boy open.
Unisex Linen Kitchen Apron
Want to cook more? Invest in an apron.
No frills, no fluff, just a simple linen apron.
I’ve found that when you have an apron that you can throw on over your work clothes, you’re more inclined to cook after work or school. No worrying about stains or mess- just cover your clothes and get to it.
This unisex version is great for couples who love to cook, too.
Glass Prep Bowls
You know I’m always telling you to use prep bowls. Prep bowls need to be in every home cook’s kitchen because they are so multi-functional.
Use them for your recipe’s mise en place. Scoop ice cream or puddings into them. Store small amounts of food in the fridge- their uses are endless. They’re also one of the most inexpensive, yet greatly appreciated, holiday gifts you will ever give.
Zwilling J.A. Henckels Knife Block Set
You know how I feel about good knives. This one of the sets I used throughout culinary school and I will always sing its praises.
Don’t go overboard when gifting a knife set- basic is best. Quality knives will last a lifetime, and as your home chef develops their skills they’ll select knives that they feel comfortable with.
This, however, set is a great starter set for the home cook who’s really passionate about their craft.
Pyrex Glass Food Container Set
Not only can you store food in this glass container set, you can prepare your food in it as well! I love casserole dishes that come with lids. Baking, serving, and storing in, and from, one dish is a god-send for those who are tight on space. With three different sizes you can make everything from pasta to snacks, and store them in one fell swoop.
Instant Pot
This one is actually on my wishlist. I’ve always been scared of pressure cookers, so Insta Pots tend to get the side-eye from me. I’m slowly coming around to wanting one, though- especially since this one has a yogurt making setting. Seems so handy!
Space-Saving Cutting Board
A space-saving cutting board is another holiday gift of love for your friend who might not have much room in the kitchen. I could’ve used one of these while living in my college tenement apartment. The risers allow you to place the board over your stove’s heating elements which gives you plenty of space- even in the tiniest of kitchens (I’m looking at you, RVs).
Glass Meal Prep Containers
A holiday gift that helps your loved one save money?!? Well, aren’t you a regular Santa Claus? Meal prep containers are all the rage, but plastic containers wear out easily. Gift these glass versions for years of, “They’re my bestest friend ever for getting me these for the holidays!” With this choice, you’ll definitely make their fancy gift list next year.
Taste & See Cooks Cookbook
The ultimate gift is over 100 recipes that your friends and family can make at home! Full of delicious recipes and the humorous antics of yours truly, this 500-page cookbook is a great way to love on your favorite Home Chef.
What’s on your Holiday Gift Wish List this year?

Me too! My glass prep bowls are always being used in my kitchen.
Oh my gosh, the instapot is a great suggestion! I love mine and use it all the time. A real gem of a gift!
I’m glad to hear it’s useful. I don’t want a wasted product taking up space.
I want an instant pot so badly! It would make my life so much easier
I agree! I hope to receive one for Christmas!
Thanks for sharing this. Now I know.
It’s my pleasure, Monica! I hope it alleviates some stress!
This is a great list. I’ve definitely been considering an instant pot for myself lately. Thanks!
I think I’m finally ready to confront my fear of pressure cookers, Mallory.
