African-American/Soul Food

The food of the African diaspora is the cultural backbone of the United States. Learn African-American/Soul Food recipes that are near and dear to my heart and the hearts of many Black (and non-Black) Americans.

Learn about my roots with Black Eyed Peas made the old-school way, moist pound cakes that are a staple at every church bake sale, and drinks that honor my African culture. I've even created new recipes that celebrate typical African-American ingredients. Taste my Black Eyed Pea Salad with Collard Greens or cool down with my Sweet Potato Butter Pecan Frozen Custard.

Head over to my Caribbean section for more recipes that celebrate the diaspora.
